Arc. Olugbenga Ayodele Onabanjo was born on 07 January 1959 to late Mr Godwin Olajide Onabanjo and late Mrs Bernice Olusola Onabanjo ( nee Otubusin). He attended Methodist Boys’ High School Lagos and The Polytechnic Ibadan for his secondary education. In 1976, he enrolled at The University of Lagos, where he graduated as an Architect. After working with a couple of Architectural firms, he set up his firm, GYB Consults Ltd, an Architectural design and build company.

Arc Onabanjo was appointed as a commissioner in Ogun state in 1998. He is an alumnus of the Lagos Business School. Mr Onabanjo is widely travelled. He is an ordained Pastor. He is on the board of several organisations. He has a passion for the environment. He is the founder of GO- FORTE FOUNDATION…a foundation for the restoration of the environment. He is widely travelled. Mr Onabanjo is happily married and blessed with four children.
